Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies, each needed for something you have asked it to do. There are no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, which is why you do not see a cookie banner.
01The cookies we set
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores for a website. These are the only ones this site sets:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Keeps your cart and your progress through checkout together while you browse, and protects the checkout form against forged requests. | Until you close your browser |
buyer |
Remembers your name, email and billing address for your next purchase. Set only if you tick “Remember these details on this device” at checkout. | 180 days |
supchat_v |
Keeps your chat conversation with us together, so you can see our replies when you come back. Set only once you send a message in the chat. | 1 year |
All three are first-party cookies, readable only by this site and not by scripts on the page.
02Removing the remembered details
To forget your checkout details, leave the “Remember these details on this device” box unticked at your next checkout: the cookie is then deleted. You can also delete it at any time in your browser’s settings by clearing cookies for this site, which removes the other cookies too (your cart will be emptied and the chat will start a new conversation).
03Why we do not ask for consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you request do not need consent. The session cookie and the chat cookie fall into that category. The remember-me cookie is set only when you choose it by ticking the box, which is your consent.
04External services your browser contacts
Some parts of each page are delivered by other services, directly to your browser. They set no cookies through this site, but like any web server they receive your IP address and basic browser information when your browser requests the file:
- Photographs are served from the photo library’s content delivery network.
- Payment-method icons at the foot of each page are served from a public content delivery network.
- Typefaces are served by a web font service.
When you continue to payment you leave this site for the secure payment page of our payment service provider, which uses its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by that provider’s own notice shown on its page.
More about how we handle personal data is in our Privacy notice.
