Terms
These terms apply when you buy a course or track from Web-Learning and when you watch it. They are written to be read, so please read them before you pay.
01Who you are contracting with
This website is run by WEB-LEARNING LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16778743. Our registered office is 158 Albany Road, Hornchurch, England, RM12 4AB. You can reach us by email at hello@webblearning.co.uk or through the chat on any page of this site. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean WEB-LEARNING LTD, and “you” means the person buying or watching a course.
02What we sell
We sell recorded web development courses and tracks (a track is a set of courses sold together). Each course is a series of pre-recorded video lessons that you stream and watch online, with the materials listed on that course’s page.
To be clear about what a course is not:
- there is no live teaching, tutor or mentor, and no one reviews or marks your code or exercises;
- the videos are streamed only and cannot be downloaded;
- no certificate is issued and no course is accredited by any awarding body;
- we do not offer job placement and make no promise of work, income or a particular result.
The course page describes what each course covers, how many lessons it has and how long the videos run. Please check that a course suits you before you buy; the Before you start page explains the computer and set-up you need.
03Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). The total shown at checkout is the total you are charged for your order.
Payment is taken on the secure payment page of our payment service provider, which acts as the merchant of record for your payment and collects any tax due on it. Your card details are entered on that page and never reach us. Depending on your card and location, the payment page may offer to show and charge the amount in your own currency; if you accept, the conversion rate and any fee for it are set by the payment page and shown to you before you pay.
A contract between you and us is formed when your payment is completed and your order page confirms it.
04Access to your courses
We email your access details within one working day of your payment, to the email address you gave at checkout. Your order page also shows what you bought and what happens next.
Each course you buy stays available to you for 18 months from the day access begins. You can watch the lessons as often as you like during that time.
Access is a personal, non-transferable licence to watch the course yourself for your own learning. You may not share your login, let other people watch through your account, record, copy, resell or publish the videos or materials, or use them to teach a paid class. If we see that an account is being shared, we may suspend it after telling you why.
We may correct, re-record or improve lessons during your access period. We will not remove material in a way that leaves a course substantially different from its description when you bought it.
05Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract made online. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, such as our streamed courses, that right ends once access begins, if you have expressly asked for access to start immediately and acknowledged that you lose your right to cancel.
At checkout we ask you to confirm exactly that, by ticking a box next to this sentence:
I ask for access to start immediately and I understand that I lose my right to cancel once access begins.
This means:
- Before access begins (before we have sent your access details), you can cancel your order and receive a full refund. Email us or use the chat and we will refund you to the payment method you used, within 14 days of your request.
- Once access begins, the 14-day right to cancel no longer applies. Your rights if something is wrong with the course remain, as explained in the next section.
06If a course is faulty
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a course does not meet those standards, for example lessons will not play or the content is materially different from its description, tell us and we will repair or replace it. If we cannot do that within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a price reduction, which can be up to a full refund. If faulty content damages your device or other digital content, and this would not have happened had we used reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Citizens Advice can explain them in more detail.
07Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for business losses: our courses are sold for personal learning.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We aim to keep the site and the lessons available at all times, but there may be short interruptions for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If an interruption is long enough to affect your use of a course in a meaningful way, contact us and we will put it right, for example by extending your access.
08Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us by email at hello@webblearning.co.uk or through the chat. Include your order reference if your complaint is about an order. We usually reply within one working day and aim to resolve complaints within 14 days.
09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the law changes. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on this page when you placed it.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the place where you live.
