Privacy
This notice explains what personal data we collect when you visit this site, chat with us or buy a course, what we do with it, who else receives it and how long we keep it.
01Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is WEB-LEARNING LTD, company number 16778743, registered office 158 Albany Road, Hornchurch, England, RM12 4AB. For anything about your data, email hello@webblearning.co.uk.
02When you buy a course
Our checkout form asks for your first and last name, email address, company name (optional) and billing address, including your country. We collect these details ourselves, and when you continue to payment we pass them to our payment service provider so that it can take the payment and meet its own legal duties as merchant of record, including working out any tax due.
Your card or wallet details are entered only on the secure payment page of our payment service provider. They never reach our server and we never see them.
When the payment is complete we keep an order record: what you bought, the amount and currency charged, the date, your name, email and billing details, and the reference of the payment. We use it to send your access details, to answer questions about your order, to handle refunds and complaints, and to keep the accounting records the law requires.
03When you use the chat
If you write to us in the chat, we keep your messages, any files you send in the chat and, if you choose to give it, your email address, on our own server. We also note the page you were on when you wrote. A cookie on your device keeps the conversation together (see Cookies). A conversation, including its files, is deleted 365 days after its last message.
04When you visit the site
Each time a page is requested we record the time, your IP address, the country it belongs to, the page requested, the page you came from (referrer) and your browser’s description of itself. We use this log for security and fraud prevention, for example to spot abuse of the checkout or the chat. To find the country we may send the IP address to an IP location service. The log is deleted after 90 days.
We do not use analytics tools or advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
05Remembering your details
At checkout you can choose to have your name, email and billing address remembered on your device for your next purchase. This is off unless you tick the box. The details are kept in a cookie on your device, not in an account; see Cookies for how long it lasts and how to remove it.

07Who receives your data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the following kinds of recipient, each for the purpose described:
- Our payment service provider, which acts as merchant of record: your checkout details and payment information, to take the payment, prevent fraud and handle tax.
- Our hosting provider, whose servers store this site, the order records, the chat and the visit log.
- An IP location service, which receives IP addresses from the visit log to tell us the country they belong to.
- The photo library’s content delivery network, which serves the photographs on this site directly to your browser and therefore sees your IP address.
- The content delivery network that serves the payment-method icons at the foot of each page, which also sees your IP address.
- The font service that delivers the typefaces used on this site, which sees your IP address when your browser requests them.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example to HM Revenue & Customs or the police. Some of these recipients may process data outside the United Kingdom; where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
08How long we keep it
- Chat conversations and files: 365 days after the last message.
- Visit log: 90 days.
- Order records: six years after the end of the financial year of the order, as UK accounting and tax law requires.
- Remembered checkout details: on your device only, for as long as the cookie lasts or until you remove it.
09Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@webblearning.co.uk; we will reply within one month. Some data, such as order records, we must keep for the period the law sets even if you ask us to delete it.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
